Crossthepond Competitions

Mercury Music Prize
In the Jeremy Warmsley show we pitted your minds against those of Alexis Petridis of the Guardian, and our very own Padraic Halpin as to predicting the winner of this year’s prize. The winner walks home with a copy of the album they chose to win it.
Alexis picked Scritti Politti and Padraic picked Richard Hawley, but who do you think will win it. If you think you know, send in your thoughts to competitions@crossthepondmusic.com.
The Winner
Well much to Padraic and no doubt Alexis' surprise the Arctic Monkey's walked away with the prize. It is just another token to a band who have won everything. However, unlike our experts, it seems that you lot out there who entered the competition chose the Arctic Monkeys too, as they were the most popular choice for winner. In the end Charley, from Southampton of all places, is the smart arse who can expect a copy of their album, although I'm sure he already has one because almost every breathing person does, to arrive with his morning post sometime soon.
